Worm Farm EXTRA Tray

Add extra trays to the Worm Farm Wormery as your composting needs increase. Extra Trays can be added, up to a maximum of 5. Each tray measures 38cms wide x 38cms long and 14cm deep.

The Worm Farm Wormery is a layered wormery that is easy to use and will quickly convert your kitchen waste into FREE compost and liquid feed. The wormery is delivered in a single box with 250g of worms included, so it will need setting up within 48 hours. The Worm Farm Wormery is made from recycled plastic and is very simple to assemble and can be kept inside or out – mine is outside for the summer and in the greenhouse during the winter. This stacking wormery comes initially with 2 perforated trays with each tray measuring 38cms wide x 38cms long and 14cm deep, but more can be added if needed. Each Worm Farm Wormery consists of a sturdy sump tray with feet (which collects the liquid feed), 2 perforated trays, a Lid PLUS a Coir Bedding Block, 250g of composting worms, 2kg Lime Mix and 2kg Worm Treat. Once assembled the wormery measures 38 cm x 38 cm x 38 cm. To start :-

• Assemble the sump by attaching the feet.
• Place the 1st tray on top of the sump and add the coir bedding and some of the paper packaging the wormery was delivered in torn into little pieces and add the worms.
• Cover the worms with a layer of chopped kitchen waste.
• Keep adding kitchen waste regularly to the tray – in the beginning it is best to add small amounts of waste regularly to allow the worms to settle in.
• Once the 1st tray is full, start filling the next tray.
• The worms start “eating” the kitchen waste in the bottom tray and once finished, they move up to the next tray through the perforations in each layer. Simply keep adding waste & filling the trays.
• By the time you have filled the top tray, the bottom tray will have fully worked compost, which can be emptied out. This empty tray is then placed on the top ready for fresh waste.
• The liquid fertilizer is drained regularly from the sump by tipping it forward and needs to be diluted (10:1) before use.
