As seen at the Chelsea Flower Show – Produced in the UK (from the Welsh whelk fishing industry), this Crushed Shell Barrier contains crushed, washed and dried whelk shells that make an effective pot topper / barrier that will stop slugs, prevent Sciarid Fly, supress weeds and help retain moisture PLUS it looks great too. It contains the shells of whelks caught on the West Coast of Wales using traditional pots, a low impact method of fishing which means minimal damage to the sea floor and marine habitats. With 3 pack sizes available, the smaller packs are ideal for top dressing indoor plants while the larger bags are best for adding to garden borders, beds, rockeries or for outdoor plant pot topper.

Use them to :-
- Top dressing indoor plant pots to prevent Sciarid Fly and prevent moisture loss. Great for cacti, succulents, terrariums and houseplants.
- Use them outdoors as a mulch to supress weeds, retain moisture and as a natural slug deterrent – place a generous layer around the base of plants. A Large Bag (approx 11kg) will mulch approx 1/2 sqm.
- Mix the shells into soil or compost to improve drainage and aeration.
