Customer Question – Scarifying Lawn and nematodes?
Q. “I’m about to order more leatherjacket nematodes, as have spotted a small number of crane flies emerging & desperately want to stave off another infestation. I am planning to scarify & aerate the lawn soon but wanted to check that I won’t be making matters worse if I scarify around the same time as nematode application.” Please advise.” from Shelley Smith by email
A. Thanks for the message and although scarifying is not necessary, anything you can do to help the nematodes penetrate the lawn is a good idea, so if you are planning to scarify and aerate the lawn, I would do this first and then apply the nematodes.
