Customer Question – Root Success Mycorrhizal Fungi and a new lawn?

Q. “Is Root Success suitable for using on a newly turfed lawn to help it develop a good root system. It has just been laid, so is this a good time of year to use it?” Regards, Jane by email

A. Thanks for the message and you can use Root Success Mycorrhizal Fungi on new or existing lawns at any time of year. As you suggest, it will help any lawn develop a much healthier root system. This is turn will help a lawn recover from a pest attack i.e. if you lawn has been attacked by chafer grubs and / or leatherjackets and it will help it to be more drought resistant.

Root Success Mycorrhizal Fungi is a LIQUID Mycorrhizal Fungi concentrate, which is ideal for applying to lawns – it can also be used when sowing seeds and for plants such as tomatoes and chillies. Applying Mycorrhizal Fungi to your lawn / plants leads to a much stronger, drought resistant lawn / plants. It will also help a lawn recover from pest attacks i.e. Leatherjackets and Chafer Grubs. This liquid concentrate contains friendly Mycorrhizal Fungi and beneficial bacteria, which produces a secondary root system to develop alongside existing roots, which will supply nutrients and water to the grass / plant for its entire lifetime – like a permanent fertiliser.
