Customer Question – Sheltered enough for ladybirds?

Q. “Hi there, sorry if this question is a little stupid. Just wanted to check before ordering the ladybird larvae. My garden already has aphids all over one of my hellebores. If I already have aphids, would my garden be considered as sheltered enough for the ladybird larvae. I would hate for them to perish! Also would you recommend adding a ladybird house/barn to encourage them to stick around once they pupate?” from Nicola

Thanks for the message and it is more down to there being food available as to whether it is sheltered i.e. if it is sheltered enough for aphids to be present then it is sheltered enough for ladybird larvae, so you are fine to go ahead and release them (please CLICK HERE to find out more about Ladybird Larvae).
