Customer Question – Where have all the ladybird gone?
“Where have all the ladybirds gone and is it safe to introduce them now? My sweetpeas are covered with aphids.” from Rowan Ross by email
Thanks for the message and we only supply native ladybirds, so in theory you could introduce them all year round, but we normally supply them between May and the end of August as this is when there are lots of aphids around. The warm weather means there are loads of aphids around, so you are safe to introduce them now – we always recommend using ladybird larvae to combat aphids on specific plants as they cannot fly and will stay where you put them.
