Customer Question – Lawn care safe for rabbits
Q. “Hi, I have a problem with heavy clay soil and ultimately a lot of moss growth. I also have two indoor rabbits that graze on the grass during suitable weather, not so much during the winter months. I’m considering using MossOff with it being chemical free. Is this a suitable treatment and is now a good time to be using? My intention is to hire a lawn scarifier around late Feb/Mar time to aerate and remove thatch/ dead/remaining moss. I also used to feed my lawn a lot with the multi treatment products, this however was before the rabbits. Are there any other products that would be suitable to feed the lawn without risk to the rabbits?” from Ben
A. Thanks for the message and Moss Off is safe for pets including rabbits as it is starch based. It can be used at any time of year, but it has to be applied during dry weather as it needs to dry on the moss to coat it and kill it (it works by physical methods), so time the application for when we have some dry weather. Our Organic Lawn Fertiliser would be ideal as it is safe for rabbits ONCE it is watered in (so keep the rabbits off until it is watered) and you only need to apply it 3 times a year. I hope this helps. Jon @ Green Gardener
